If you already have a cart full of items and want to pay as little as possible, go through this quick list before checking out. Each item is an area where most people miss out on discounts without realizing it.

  1. You are logged in on the account (not purchasing as a guest)
  2. Your SHEIN points They appear in the cart and are ready to apply.
  3. O The registered address matches the country. where are you buying from (coupons from other countries may not be valid)
  4. Your cart has two or more items from the same category, so activate the combos when you have them.
  5. The total value is above the minimum for free shipping (or do you know how much is left?)
  6. If this is your first purchase, the Automatic coupon for new customer It is applied to the cart.

Did we miss any of these? The next sections explain how to fix each one.

New customer discount: what can be fully utilized?

Your first purchase at SHEIN is where you get the biggest discount of your entire life as a customer. The store offers several advantages that can be combined for those who create a new account, but few people take advantage of them all at once.

The automatic first-purchase coupon. It appears right after the initial login, usually between 15 and 30% discount depending on the country. It appears automatically in the cart when you apply it — no code is required. The only rule is usually a minimum order value. The 30% discount appears more often when the campaign is via the app, on specific dates and with a higher minimum value. During normal periods, it's closer to 15 to 20%.

Price only available on the app. SHEIN often has products cheaper on the app than on the website, especially for new customers. Download the app, log in with the same account, and compare a few items before making a purchase. The difference on specific items can be as much as 10 or 20%.

Welcome with free shipping. In many countries, your first purchase comes with free shipping with no minimum purchase amount (or a significantly reduced minimum purchase amount). This is a unique advantage—after your first purchase, you need to reach the normal minimum purchase amount for free shipping.

Welcome points. SHEIN awards a certain number of points just for creating an account and confirming your email, and a little more after your first order. On their own, they're not worth much (a few dozen cents), but they're the basis for starting to accumulate real points in the next batch.

An honest observation about family finances. In some cases, each person creates their own account and takes advantage of their own welcome discount — this is allowed, as long as each account has real data, a real address, and the person makes the purchase themselves. What SHEIN prohibits (and detects) is a person creating multiple accounts with false data to multiply the discount. Those who try this usually have their main account banned without warning.

SHEIN points: how to earn, collect and use them

This is the most underrated section of the entire guide. SHEIN points function like a small amount of in-store currency that you accumulate, and most people don't even know their balance, let alone how to use it properly.

How points work

The basic rule: every 100 points are worth $1 in SHEIN credit. These points are used to pay part of the order, up to approximately 70% of the cart value (excluding shipping and taxes). In other words: if your order has $30 worth of products, you can pay up to $21 in points — the rest is charged to your card.

Points have an expiration date. They usually expire 1 year after you earned them. Forgetting and letting them expire is one of the most common mistakes — so it's worth checking your balance every two or three months.

Ways to earn points

SHEIN offers several ways to earn points daily. Some yield more points, others significantly less:

Daily check-in on the app. Every time you log into the app and check in, you earn some points (usually between 1 and 3, depending on the day). Longer check-in streaks give you extra bonuses. On its own it's not much, but in 30 to 60 days it adds up to a balance that pays for a small purchase.

Review your purchases. This is where the points pay off the most. Writing a complete review of a product you purchased (text + photo, similar to the standard in our Free Trial guide) earns you 20 points. If the review is marked as Quality, you earn an additional 100 — a total of 120 points for the piece. Those who buy 2 or 3 items per month and always submit Quality reviews accumulate hundreds of points without any extra effort.

Confirm receipt. Every time an order arrives and you confirm it in the app, you earn some points. It's not much, but it's automatic.

Events on special dates. SHEIN runs promotions within the app (mini-games, treasure hunts, spinning the wheel on certain dates) that award points. Most are boring and yield little; it's only worth participating in events on major dates (Black Friday, SHEIN's anniversary), which usually give larger packages.

Invite your friends. We'll cover this in detail in the next section, but it's worth knowing now: each person who signs up through your link and makes their first purchase earns you extra points.

How to connect points intentionally

The smartest way: if you know you're going to make a bigger purchase in 2 or 3 months (seasonal change, gift, event), start saving now.

Logging into the app every day (5 seconds), submitting Quality reviews on small purchases you already make, participating in points events on major dates — all of this together over 60 to 90 days usually results in a balance of 500 to 1,500 points, which is worth between $5 and $15 in discounts on a large purchase.

It's not wealth, but it's real money, without any extra effort. And combined with the other discounts in the guide, the final discount on a large purchase is much greater than what the average person gets.

The "Invite Your Friends" program: how to make it really pay off.

SHEIN has a referral program within the app. You get your personal link, send it to friends who don't yet have an account, and you both earn something when she makes her first purchase.

What your friend gets: A discount coupon for the first purchase, usually larger than the standard new customer coupon. That's what makes the link worthwhile for her to accept.

What you get: SHEIN points are earned when a customer places their first order, and in some cases, points continue to be credited towards subsequent purchases within a certain period (usually 30 to 60 days). The amounts vary by country and by campaign—SHEIN typically offers higher bonuses during major sales periods.

How to find your link. Within the app, in the “Me” section, scroll down to “Invite Friends” (or “Convidar Amigos”, depending on the account's language). The link is personalized.

How to make it yield results. This part depends on you having contact with people who would buy from SHEIN anyway — not on "selling" the link. Two methods work best:

  • In a family or friends group that already talks about shopping, you let those who are thinking about starting to buy from SHEIN know and send them the link—a win-win situation.
  • In small groups where you actually participate (Facebook groups for decorating, fashion, new moms) — no spam, only mentioning when someone asks.

The referral bonus is real, but it's small — it doesn't replace income; it's an extra on top of a purchase that you or your network would make anyway.

Flash sales and daily deals: what's worth it?

How to know if the discount is real?

Check the product history. On some items, SHEIN displays a "lowest price in 30 days" or similar label. When it appears, it guarantees that the current price is indeed the lowest of the month.

Compare colors and sizes of the same item. Often, the same item in a different color has a different price. If the black one is $15 and the beige one is $9, keep an eye out—the beige one might also look good on you.

Take a screenshot before and after. Browser extensions like Honey don't work well on SHEIN, but the app itself shows price history for some items. Take a screenshot of the price, add it to your wishlist, and check again in 1 or 2 days — many items naturally change price.

Be wary of "limited offer" on a common item. If the product isn't exclusive or from a special collection, the "limited-time offer" will likely return next week with the same discount or even a higher one. Don't put pressure on yourself.

The two daily deals that are usually worth it.

Basic items that alternate in the promotion. Basic items (T-shirts, socks, underwear, pajamas) are subject to significant discounts in alternating fashion. If you're building a basic wardrobe, tracking this for 1 or 2 weeks will yield some great finds.

Home and accessories at the end of the collection. Bedding, tableware, and home decor items often go on consistent discounts at the end of the season. It may not have the glitz of viral clothing, but the discount is real.

Combos and free shipping: the minimum order value that most people get wrong.

SHEIN offers free shipping on orders above a minimum value (varies by country, usually between $29 and $49).

Planning your shopping cart to reach exactly that amount is one of the simplest ways to save money. But almost no one does it carefully.

The game of minimum value

The most common mistake: a cart priced at $25 (below the minimum and incurring shipping costs) or $65 (well above the minimum, with extra items just to "compensate").

Ideally, you should be $1 to $3 above the minimum purchase amount—you get free shipping and you haven't bought extra items just to "meet the quota."

Practical tip: before finalizing your cart, check the minimum purchase amount for your region. If you're only a little short, add an item you were going to buy in your next order anyway. If you have a lot left over, remove an item and save it for your next order.

Combos with automatic discount

Some items have an automatic discount when you buy in bulk — “buy 2 get 10% off”, “buy 3 get 15% off”, “buy 2 get 3”.

When this type of offer appears on an item you would already use multiple times (basic t-shirt, socks, top), it's worth buying them together. For a single item that you would never use in multiples, don't create a need that doesn't exist.

The correct order to apply discounts

This section is the most unique in the guide and the most important for truly saving money. SHEIN allows you to combine some discounts and not others — and, within the combined discounts, the order in which you apply them matters.

What do you usually get together with?

  • Points + free shippingAlways. Points are used to discount the product price; shipping is calculated separately.
  • Points + comboYes. The combo lowers the product price; the points are added later, in the total.
  • New customer coupon + free shippingYes, if you reach the minimum value.
  • Points + Flash SaleYes. The promotional price becomes the base price, and the points are deducted from that amount.

What usually doesn't come together

  • New customer coupon + special date couponNormally only one of the two works. If both appear in the cart, the system chooses the one with the higher value.
  • Coupon you type in + automatic couponMost typed coupons only apply if there are no other automatic coupons running.
  • Cashback credit + discount couponIt's generally not possible to use them together.

The correct order to apply

When you have multiple discounts, follow this order before checking out:

  1. Adjust the cart to reach the Minimum value for free shipping.
  2. Check if there is any combo or quantity discount activating automatically
  3. Apply the coupon (You can only choose one; select the one with the highest value)
  4. Apply the SHEIN points to lower the final total

If you apply points first and then a coupon, in some cases the coupon will be calculated on top of the value already reduced by the points, and you'll lose the discount. Applying the coupon first and then the points maximizes your savings.

How far can you accumulate discounts (and how to get close to 50%)?

Now that you understand each discount separately and the order in which to apply them, it's time to open the final calculation: How much does that actually save? depending on your profile as a customer.

The honest answer is that it varies quite a bit. Someone who just created an account has a natural ceiling. Someone who has already bought a few times, accumulated points, and knows the timing of sales can reach much higher levels.

The 40 to 55% discount circulating in screenshots and videos is real — but it's a specific case, not what happens every time someone opens the app.

Below are the three most common scenarios, with the account already opened.

Case A: New customer, first purchase

You just created an account. You don't have any points accumulated yet (only the initial registration bonus, which is worth a few cents). Your available discounts:

  • Automatic coupon for new customers: between 15 and 30% on the product value.
  • Free shipping on orders over the minimum value for your region.
  • Possible price difference in the app for some items.

Total real economy: between 20 and 35% in relation to the full price you would see on a first visit.

Here, it's not possible to accumulate points in a meaningful way—you simply don't have enough yet. This is the natural starting point.

Case B: customer with a few months of service

You've had an account for 2 to 4 months, made some purchases, submitted reviews for some of them, and open the app fairly regularly. Approximate points balance: between 200 and 600, depending on how consistent you've been.

Discounts available on a current purchase:

  • Active special date coupon (when a campaign is running): 10 to 20%
  • Points applied: cover $2 to $6 of the order.
  • Item on genuine flash sale or deal of the day.
  • Free shipping on minimum order value

Total real economy: between 30 and 40% In relation to the full price, when you make a purchase during a good campaign window.

This is the level where most customers who regularly shop at SHEIN stay without any special effort.

Case C: Home customer, with plan and timing.

You've had an account for 6 months or more, regularly submit Quality reviews, participate in major points events, and follow the SHEIN sales calendar. Your points balance is between 800 and 2,000 — sometimes more.

For a specific purchase, at a specific time (usually Black Friday, 11.11, or SHEIN's anniversary), you assemble your cart like this:

  • Choose items that are on genuine flash sale (30 to 45% off the base price)
  • Apply the active special date coupon (15 to 20% on the subtotal)
  • Applies the accumulated points (subtracts 10 more points from the total)
  • Reaches the minimum value for free shipping.

Total real economy: between 45 and 55% about the full price of the items in the cart.

This is the level that appears in the "look how much I paid" screenshots on the internet. It's real. But it depends on three things happening together: the right products being on genuine sale, a valid special date coupon, and a points balance built up in the preceding months. It doesn't happen on a regular Tuesday—it happens when you were prepared.

How to level up

If you are in Case A today and want to reach Case C in about 6 months, the path is quite simple:

Months 1 and 2. Only buy what you were going to buy anyway, but always stay logged in and always submit a Quality review (the complete model is in our Free Trial guide — the same standard applies to reviews on paid purchases). Open the app every day to get the check-in. This builds your first 200 to 400 points.

Months 3 and 4. Start participating in in-app point events, especially around major dates (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, brand anniversary). Each event awards a points package. Create a wish list—items you want but don't need to buy right now.

Months 5 and 6. Keep an eye on the sales calendar. When the first big campaign arrives (usually Black Friday, 11.11 or SHEIN's anniversary), you'll have three things ready: a balance of 800+ points, an active special date coupon, and your wish list ready to go. It's in this purchase that the total comes close to 45 to 55%.

What doesn't work: trying to skip building points, or impulse buying expecting a big discount without meeting the prerequisites. SHEIN rewards those who have a routine, not those who try to get a good deal on a single purchase — and that's why those who do it right go further.

Checkout errors that void your discount.

Things that seem silly but cost money every time. Check before clicking "buy":

Buy without being logged in. Without logging in, you lose points, lose account coupons, and in some cases pay a different price (because promotional prices sometimes depend on your account history).

Forgetting to apply the coupon. Many coupons appear in the "apply coupon" area of the shopping cart but are not automatically applied — you need to click to activate them. A shopping cart without a clicked coupon will not generate a discount.

Letting points expire without realizing it. Check your balance and expiration dates for your oldest points every 2 or 3 months. Expired points are not carried over.

Switching accounts mid-purchase. If you started your shopping cart with one account and log in to another to complete it, points and coupons from the first account will not transfer.

Do not check the account's country. Coupons for country X will not work on accounts configured for country Y. If you travel or use a VPN, confirm which country is active before applying the coupon.

Conclusion

If you've made it this far, you now have the complete system. Your next purchase will be cheaper — and the next, and the next, without having to keep checking coupon websites to see if there's a new code.

And if at some point you think, "Okay, I'm paying much less, but what if I could simply..." do not pay Nothing in some pieces? — There's a way to do that too.

SHEIN has a program called Free Trial, where you receive free items in exchange for a review.
