What you should know before downloading
Before downloading the application, it is important to note that only those who issued the document after March 2017 have access to the application.
This happens because documents issued after that date contain a QR Code on the back.
If your document does not have this code, you must request a duplicate.
In this way, the new document will come with the requested QR Code and you will be able to access the app without any problem.
Step by step to download the CNH Digital application
Before proceeding with downloading the application, it is necessary to access the Federal Government website and register. This step is mandatory, as it is from this registration that you will receive your activation code, this code will be needed later. Check out the step-by-step process to register below:
- Download the Carteira Digital de Trânsito application on your smartphone;
- Enter the access password (initially, it will be your CPF) and the activation code distributed after registration on the Federal Government website;
- Click on the “Next” button and fill in the requested form with your personal data;
- Accept the disclaimer;
- A link will be sent to your email to activate your account;
- Access your e-mail and confirm the registration;
- Log in to the CDT application;
- To add your CNH in the application, click on the “+” button in the upper right corner and select the “Digital CNH” option;
- Go to “Validation by cell phone” to authorize your document;
- Then go to “Give access” to authorize the application to access your camera;
- Scan the QR Code on the back of your CNH document;
- Then, go to “Next” to carry out the facial biometrics;
- Finally, enter your phone number and click “Finish” to create an access key, consisting of 4 digits, which will be requested every time you open the application;
- Your registration is ready!
If your CNH already has the QR Code, you can also download the app by scanning it. Activation must be carried out and then click on the option “Add your CNH” and finally, choose how you will authenticate. Only after authentication, you can prove that the document is yours.
