Get to know the SUS Card in its digital version!
Have you ever heard of the SUS Card? We believe that at some point you have needed to use the services offered by the Unified Health System (SUS). With that you should probably have your card.
Having public health care is everyone's right, regardless of any social class, location, age, color or race.
Today 100Tech will answer all your questions about the SUS Card and also talk about the importance of implementing its digital version.
SUS card
The SUS stay includes consultations, exams, surgeries, health monitoring, free medication consultation, medical care in different areas, among others, completely free of charge.
However, to access treatments, you must have the National Health Card, called SUS Card.
How is the new document?
The document has a 15-digit sequence, allowing identification when using public health services.
This record, which gathers your personal data and other documents such as CPF, RG and other forms of contact, such as address, email and contact telephone number.
Since then, citizens and health professionals will also know the exact date of application of possible other vaccines.
Important message about the SUS Card
The Ministry of Health points out that it is not mandatory to be a user of the App Connect SUS to get vaccinated.
If you don't have the App, just take an identification document to the health center containing CPF, at the time you are summoned to take the dose, according to the priority groups.
On site, registration can also be made in the database of the Ministry of Health, if necessary.
Where to apply for the SUS Card?
The request for the SUS Card is a quick, simple and free process, and must be carried out in a health unit, namely, the UBS (Basic Health Unit) present in the neighborhoods where you live or other municipalities close to your home.
It is also possible to perform it at the Health Department of your city.
How to apply for the SUS Card
To speed up the process, you can pre-register on the website and print the protocol.
After 30 days, go to the health unit closest to your address to pick it up, presenting the protocol and necessary identification documents.
The deadline for receiving the issuance is up to 90 days.
Please have the following documents ready for the application:
- General Registry - RG
- Marriage or birth certificates
- Individual Registration - CPF
- Updated proof of residency.
If you need assistance or do not yet have a SUS Card, you must be assisted in the same way.
Immunization digital passport
The European Union is working to create a fully valid vaccine passport for all countries. Anyone who is vaccinated will be able to skip the controls imposed on others to enter a given country.
Countries such as the US and China are also expected to implement the measures, although the vaccine is not a legitimate condition of entry, this could become mandatory.
The document will be distributed digitally and allows Brazilians to present proof of vaccination, thus contributing to health control.
How to issue the second copy of the SUS Card
If this is the first time you are using the services, you must first register with the SUS, a process that can also be done online.
- Go to the Citizen Portal: portaldocidadao.saude.gov.br
- Follow the tutorial that appears next or click on “Skip” to go straight to the site
- Go to “Login”
- If you already have an account, enter your CPF in the field and click on “Next”;
- If you don't have an account yet, go to "Create your account"
- Fill in your details and proceed with the registration;
- On the home page, log in with your CPF and password.

Issue the SUS Card by name
If you do not have your card registered, you can issue a duplicate through the following steps;
- Access the Citizen Portal: https://meudigisus.saude.gov.br/
- Go to “Consultation of the National Health Card database by name”;
- Fill in your full name, date of birth, CPF, city of origin and maternal name;
- Check the security box and click on “Consult”;
- If your registration is found, follow the tutorials to save the card in PDF format on your device.
How to print the duplicate of the SUS Card
If you prefer to use the printed card, you can print the document using the template on the Word platform.
When viewing the document, there will be 2 options:
- Save in the machine in PDF format to print;
- And request the duplicate in person at the Basic Health Unit where you are registered – lamination is at your own expense.
